Invasive Vine Winter Institute

Invited by Dr. Carla Restrapo of the University of Puerto Rico, I helped teach more than 30 students about invasion science and species distribution modelling at Puerto Rico in December 2024 and 2025. Choosing invasive vines as our study taxa, we explored how they are affecting agriculture and infrastructure projects in the island by engaging in community outreach efforts and geospatial modelling. Specifically, I led efforts to assess which areas in Puerto Rico are most susceptible to further vine invasions through species distribution modelling.
